RESTRICTED SUBSTANCES POLICY

Good leather Tannery (An ISO 14001:2004 Certified Company) is committed to fair and sustainable business
and pursuit of continual improvement. The company will utilize these criteria
in selecting suppliers of materials used in the manufacture of our product
lines and will rigidly test and monitor our end product to ensure that it meets
the needs of legislative, our customers and the sustainability goals of our
company.
Good Leather Tannery strives to
partner with competent, reliable suppliers including hide, skin and leather
that can provide materials that are free from, or are within, permissible
levels of restricted substances.
Suppliers to Good Leather Tannery
will be required to supply all pertinent materials Safety Data Sheets for the
safe handling of their products. Producers of chemicals which may contain one or more restricted substances, or
which have the possibility
of reaction or cleavage to one or more of the restricted substances
listed in table must supply
documentation certifying the absence
from, or percentage content of, that
restricted substance within their product.
Good Leather Tannery will undertake
independent, third party (NABL accredited) testing once in a year each of our
major product lines for conformance to the restricted substances limits set out
in TABLE 1.Testing will also be undertaken if a new component is substituted or
introduced. A major product line is defined as one which constitutes more than
25% of the output of the facility. In the event that a customer requires its
purchases from Good Leather Tannery to conform to more stringent limits, to a
more stringent testing regime or to be tested for additional restricted
substances, Good Leather Tannery will test in accordance with the requirements
for that customer.
In the event that a test sample
indicates a non-conforming quantity of a restricted substance being present in
a product line Good Leather Tannery pledges to withdraw the product line from
the supply chain and inform affected parties if the product has already been
shipped.
The details of the policy will be
communicated to all existing customers, changes in the policy being
communicated to them based on once in every six months review. The policy will
be communicated to all potential suppliers and customers through Email and
attachment to purchase order prior to the initial order being accepted.
